Ingredients
- Sliced bacon
- Onion
- Salt and black pepper
- Dried navy beans soaked in water overnight
- Molasses
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Apple cider vinegar
How to make
Heat oven to 300° F.Cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp for 7-8 minutes. Add the onion, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft. Add the beans, molasses, ketchup, mustard, and 5 cups water to the pot and set to boil. Cover the pot and transfer to the oven. Bake until the liquid is reduced. Cook till liquid is thickened. Stir in the vinegar and serve.
